Completed Projects:

1:Mazari – Sharif – Pule Baraq is the first package within this project. The length of the road for this package is 75km. This contract was awarded on 1/11/2007 to SAMWHAN Corporation in was completed in 4/Aug/2011.

1:Construction of Hairatan & Mazar-e-Sharif Railway project:

Technical and Economical feasibility studies of Hairatan & Mazar-e- Sharif Railway project is completed in Sep 2009 with financial aid of ADB and Railway direction is also consolidated from Pul-e-Dosti of Hairatan Port between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan Border to Naibabad and Mazar-e-Sharif airport in length of 75km.

ADB has also assumed the Construction funding of this welfare Project, thereupon the Construction Contract is signed with UTY Construction Company of Uzbekistan Country and the project work was is bodily started in 12 Mar 2010.

Pursuant to the Contract the Construction work shall be completed through one year, but fortunately the work progress was such better that the project construction work was completed before the deadline specified in the contract and made ready for operation.

Hairatan-Mazar-e –Sharif Railway Station was made 30 years ago and suffered lots of technical complication due to the continuation of operation and depreciation, therefore the so called station will be constructed along with the construction process of Hairatan- Mazar-e-Sharif Railway project.

As we are all in the picture there was no Railway in Afghanistan before and this is the first constructed and completed Railway project in the country, therefore the required personnel and equipment to run the Operation of Railway project does not exist in the country, hence it has been contracted with Sodiana Trans Company of Uzbekistan Country to run the Operation & Maintenance of this project by his technical personnel for the next.

3:Pul-i-Khumri – Balkh and Naiababad – Hairatan (265 km): This project started in May 2004 and was completed in 16 Dec, 2008. The length of the road in this project was 265 km.

4:Balkh – Andkhoy (182 km): The work of this project started in April 2004 and was completed in October 2006. The length of the road in this project was 182 km.

5:Andkhoy – Qaisar (210 km): The work of this project started in April 2006 and was completed in June 2010. The length of the road in this project was 210 km.

6:Qaisar – Bala Murghab (90 km): The work of this project started in December 2006 and in December 2008, only 20 km of the total 90 km length of the road was paved. The work of this project has been cancelled due to security threats.

7:Kandahar – Spin Boldak (42 km): The work of this project started in May 2007 and was completed in December 2008. The length of the road in this project was 42 km.

Three years, it should be mentioned that Afghan personnel will be trained during the above mentioned period by S.T specialists to undertake the Operation and Maintenance program in the future.
