Paktia-Khost highway reopens to traffic after a landslide

Gardez: After a landslide incident on the Paktia-Khost highway that took place in the Shabak Tangai area of Shawak district in Paktia province; the Ministry of Public Works was quickly responded and re-opened the highway for public traffic, on Tuesday.

According to the Public Works Department of Paktia province, some parts of the highway, which were hardly damaged by the landslide, were caused stopping the normal flow of traffic.

But soon after the incident, the MoPW staff along with equipment and machinery has quickly reached the area and started an emergency operation to eliminate the debris and sediments from the road.

Now, the highway is open for all kinds of traffic passage, the Ministry of Public Works confirmed.
