Balkh: The Construction of a 14.5-kilometer road in Balkh province, which has split up from the Balkh-Sheberghan highway and leads to the Baba Qachqar village of Nahrshahi district, reached 43 percent of its physical work progress.

This project is being implemented and supervised via the National Rural Access Program (NRAP) an operational unit of the Ministry of Public Works.

According to the MoPW, the contract of this project was signed with a private construction company - that’s funded by the Afghan Government - for more than 148 million Afghanis.

This farm-to-market road construction project has been created around 1196 working days for the local residents and will facilitate the access of 900 families from the Nahrshahi district to the capital city of Balkh province.
