Balkh: Work of a rigid pavement road in Marmul district is underway
An 8.91-kilometer-long rigid pavement road project in Marmul, district of Balkh, is in the beginning period with 7% work progress and will be carried out based on the action plan.
Ministry of Public Works says; 4.26-kilometer part of this road is rigid pavement with a 5 meters width, and the remaining 4.7-kilometer part of this way is the gravel road that's 7-meters wide.
The road connects the center of the Marmul district of Balkh province to Baghicha-e- Qati village of Marmal district.
The project, worth more than 72 million Afghanis, was contracted with a private construction company.
During the construction work of this project, around 1,170 working days will be created for a number of local residents, and about 14,000 families will benefit directly and about 16,000 other families will be indirectly benefited from the project.
Otherwise, this project will facilitate the residents of the districts to transfer their agricultural products to the local marketplace, on time, and increase their access to the public services too.
