Mazar-e-Sharif ring road’s construction hits 40% progress

Balkh - The ring road of Mazar-e-Sharif city, which starts from Kamgaar Square and ends in the beginning point of Shama Square of Khalid Bin Waleed residential project, is under construction with its forty percent (40%) of physical progress.

The ring road is 17.4 km long and 40 meters wide, which is being designed as a double-way, each of that has a 13 meter width and will separate by a median strip with 4.7 meters width.

The road is being built at a cost of more than 1b Afs (one billion Afghanis) and funded by the Afghan government, which has so far made 40.5 percent physical progress.

The under-construction ring road - while reduce the traffic congestion in Mazar-e-Sharif city - will have a positive impact on living conditions of the residents and will decrease the overall transportation costs.
