Kabul/Wardak: The construction of 2nd lane road from Company Bridge to Durrani Bazaar was accelerated

Kabul/Wardak: The construction process of a new route, that connects the western parts of Kabul with the center of Wardak province, was recently accelerated and reached its 20.4% progress so far.

According to the Ministry of Public Works, this 24.5-kilometer long and 11.3-meter wide asphalt road is the beginning part of the East-West corridor that goes parallel with the Kabul-Kandahar National Highway and ends in Maidan Shaar, the center of Wardak province.

This project included three RCC bridges, 60 culverts, 1310 cubic meters of retaining walls, and a total of 8.6-kilometer of ditches.

The road- contracted by the Ministry of Public Works and a private construction company- costs more than 1.3 billion Afghanis that are directly funded by the Afghan government.

Indeed, this project is included two 56-meter long bridges that have located in ​​the fifth district of Kabul city, one of which is completed and ready for operation, and the second bridge is under construction so far.
