The Ghor - Herat provincial highway project is underway
Ghor/Herat: The construction work of Ghor-Herat provincial highway, which has a length of nearly 12-kilometer with a width of 9 meters of asphalt, 1.5 and 5 meters of shoulders on both sides of the road, is underway.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, this project also included one RCC bridge with a length of 100 meters above the Harirrod Sea, 43 culverts of different sizes and shapes, and 22,517.33 Cubic meters of retaining walls.
This project has been co-contracted with two Afghan private construction companies at a cost of nearly 810 million Afghanis and has so far achieved 20.7 percent of physical work progress.
In the meantime, during the construction work of this project, it provided some 161,945 working days for the local residents too.
It is worth mentioning that with the completion of this project, the residents of Kotal Sabzak villages, Akhta khana, Hawz-e- Murghab and Bazhgona village of Ghor province will benefit from it.
The construction of the road, which is part of the East-West corridor, would play an important role in the growth of the economy, trade, social interaction, tourism, natural resources extraction, and providing facilities for social services and overall national development.
