Kandahar: 2nd lot of SpinBoldak highway reaches to 70% work progress
The construction of the road between Kandahar City and SpinBoldak district, which is more than 39km-long and 11.2m-wide, has reached 70% progress to be completed.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, the under-construction portion is the supplementary part of the Kandahar-SpinBoldak regional highway project, which is funded from the national budget of Afghanistan’s Government.
The project is including the construction of two bridges with lengths of 24 and 180 meters each, 66 culverts, 7 crossings points, and shoulders improvement both-sides of the road.
MoPW says the overall completion of the project will have a significant impact to connect remote areas, improve living conditions, and will strengthen-up the regional transit connectivity between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
