Engineer Najibullah Yamin was born in the year 1975 in the Logar Province of Afghanistan. He completed his primary, secondary, and High School in Ghazi Aminullah Logari and Ghulam Mohamad Niazi, and then, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Engineering Faculty of Kabul University 1999.
Engineer Yamin completed his Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management from Mahidol University, Thailand in 2008. Furthermore, he achieved his Post Master's in Natural Resource Management in the context of International Development from Michigan State University, USA in 2014.
Before appointed as an acting/candidate minister for the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Yamin possesses 20 years of professional and technical work experiences with both National and International Organizations; World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations, German Cooperation for International Development (GIZ), Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Ministry of Energy and Water, National Environment Protection Agency, and Presidential Palace of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Besides having 20 years of professional career, Engineer Yamin also received national and international honors, recognitions, and awards.
Based on the Presidential Order/decree no (1775) dated (8th October 2020), Engineer Yamin has been appointed as an acting/candidate Minister for the Ministry of Public Works.
He was elected Minister of Public Works on 30th October 2020 with (149) votes approved by the House of Representatives.
