Kunduz: the first road to be built according to the city master plan

In order to solve transportation problems and reduce traffic congestion in Kunduz city, the Ministry of Public Works has launched the first standard road according to the city master plan, which starts from Central Square of the city and stretches to the Kunduz airport.

This road is 7.970 km long and has been designed and constructed in different widths (45, 39, and 20 meters) along with the median and sidewalks structures.

The project is a joint contract between the Ministry of Public Works and two private construction companies worth about 250 million Afghanis and is funded by the Government of Afghanistan.

In this project, 25 culverts, 4,192 meters of concrete furrows, and 300 solar lights have been considered as a lighting systems.
The project was officially started by the local administration of Kunduz province and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation within the next year.
