Taliban destroyed a bridge and two culverts in Kunduz

While the Ministry of Public Works is carrying out more road construction projects all over Afghanistan, the Taliban insurgents causing extensive damage to the country's infrastructure by destroying roads, bridges, and sidewalks.

In the past two days, insurgents in the Imam Sahib District of Kunduz province destroyed a bridge and two culverts by IEDs that have been cut-off main routes and created basic traffic problems for the residents.

The demolition of a bridge and two culverts has also caused social and economic problems in the province, which may cost about 7 million Afghanis to repair or rebuild.

Employees of the Ministry of Public Works have traveled to the site, but due to war and the current insecurity, they are unable to begin the reconstruction work immediately.

Ministry of Public Works calls on the Taliban not to target the public interests and infrastructure that are belonging to the people of Afghanistan.
