Nuristan: The Parun - Kamdish road project hits 65% progress

For the first time, the Kamdish and Bergematal districts will be connected via road to Down-Town Parun, the Capital of the mountainous province of Nuristan.

According to the NRAP of MoPW; this 25.8-kilometer long gravel road, which is starting from the Ishtavi village of capital Parun and ends in the Kamdish district, is in the construction period that reached 65% of physical progress so far.

The road construction contract was signed between the Ministry of Public Works and local development councils.

During the construction of this project, more job opportunities are being created for the local residents, and with its completion, Kamdish and Bergmetal districts will be connected on the same route to capital Parun.

Considering that Nuristan is a mountainous province and at the same time creating new routes and major road construction is very costly, so the Ministry of Public Works gives priority to networking and creating roads, so that next time it will be completed in a fundamental way.

As it seems, the eastern Nuristan province has been a mountainous territory, the construction of new routes and at the same time asphalting of roads would require very high financial costs, so for now the Ministry of Public Works' priority is just to shape the roadbed for an inter-connected network of transportations.
