Announcement Regarding the Closure of the Salang Highway!

 The Ministry of Public Works of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan plans to apply a protective asphalt layer over the concrete sections inside the Salang Highway tunnel in 15 and 16 Galleries in accordance with technical specifications.
Therefore, this highway will be completely closed to all types of vehicles for a period of ten (10) days, from next (Sunday, October 19th to 28th October 2025).
Dear citizens are informed that during these ten days, they may use the alternative route via Doshi–Bamyan for travel.
The Ministry of Public Works kindly requests all compatriots to avoid traveling on this highway starting from 6:00 PM on (Saturday, 18th October 2025) and to remain patient and cooperative until the road is reopened.
